THE CONCUBINE

Vice Minister SHIN’s only daughter, Hwa-yeon, is courted by the king’s half-brother, Prince Sung-won, but is in love with KWON Yoo, a guest living in her house. Upon orders for Hwa-yeon to come into the royal family, she runs away with KWON Yoo but ends up getting caught. Hwa-yeon becomes the King’s concubine and gives birth to a son. The king soon passes away due to a diabolical plot by the queen dowager who has actual command of the court. The queen dowager then puts her son, Sung-won, on the king’s throne. The more Hwa-yeon tries to disclose the queen dowager’s conspiracy, the more she falls in danger. Meanwhile, King Sung-won is tormented by being unable to have the woman he loves. Just then, KWON Yoo suddenly reappears before them and they all face a new destiny paved with blood.
